John Neese is a civil trial lawyer with over 28 years of experience successfully trying a broad range of cases involving business & commercial litigation, personal injury, real estate, and other civil trial matters in both state and federal courtrooms throughout the country.

John is a native Houstonian. After graduating from the Episcopal High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics, with honors, from the University of Houston. Prior to entering law school, John gained valuable “real world” experience as a small business owner.

John then went on to the University of Houston Law Center where he was honored for his top grades. He was the Chief Notes & Comments Editor of the Houston Law Review, and a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barons. Ultimately, John graduated 3rd in his class of 357 students with summa cum laude honors.

John then began his career with the large downtown law firm of Vinson & Elkins LLP. At V&E, he tried cases involving issues of commercial, construction, personal injury and real estate law. After four years, however, John left V&E so that he could represent businesses and individuals on a contingent fee basis – a practice which large law firms often do not allow.

John has tried cases against a variety of defendants, including major corporations, energy companies, oil and gas exploration companies, real estate development companies, construction companies, accounting and engineering firms, pharmaceutical manufacturers, hospitals/healthcare companies, insurance companies, maritime companies, transportation/trucking companies, and others.

John is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He was inducted into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum for the Top Trial Lawyers in America. He was awarded Avvo’s highest attorney ranking of 10.0. And John was recognized by Super Lawyers Rising Stars from 2007-2008 and Texas Super Lawyers for every year since 2011.
